Hariyali murg 

Hariyali murg is a type of chicken preparation where different green herbs are added as a smooth paste. I had basically added mustard,coriander,mint and spinach leaves. You can add any other green herbs as your choice.😁Sometimes a unique kind of recipe give lots of excitement to our guest. I love to give some extra to my dishes😋


Chicken pieces 500gm

Green paste 100gm

Oil as required

Water as required 

Salt for taste 

Chopped onions 1cup

Ginger garlic paste 1tblspn

Tomato paste 1cup

Turmeric powder 1teaspn

Red chilli powder 1teaspn

Garam masala powder 1 1/2 teaspn (cloves+cinnamon+bay leaves+cardamom) 

Coriander powder 1 1/2 reason

For the chicken marination (Turmeric powder+redchilli powder+salt and 1cup of curd. The quantity of the masala’s should be 1teaspn each)


In a heavy bottom pan add oil and fry the chopped onions till it golden brown. Now add the tomato paste and cooked it well. Add the ginger garlic paste and the masala powders except garam masala, mixed well. Now add the marinated chicken pieces. Add salt and cooked it well while covering the lid for 15mins. You will notic the extra water from the chicken will comes out,let it be absorbed properly. Now it is the time to add the green paste,mix it properly and add water as required. Cover the lid and cooked it for 20mins or while the chicken pieces are properly done. Check the seasoning, the texture of the gravy should be thick. Don’t add to much of water. At last add the garam masala powder. Its ready to eat 🙌😁 Serve with a hot bowl of steamed rice.😋😋😋
