A typical Assamese cuisine.                              (Bah gaj xoru masor xoite) Bamboo shoots with small river fish.

Assamese cuisine is one of my most favourite choice of eating. Assam is famous for different mouthwatering delicacies. Today i thought to preapre an authentic dish of assam… Which is “xoru masor gura vaji” ! 

I preaperd it with adding fermented bamboo shoots and simple common spices which are normally used in our Assamese cooking. Let’s go for the recipe.

Ingredients

Fresh river fish 250gm (cut & clean,wash it very well)

Chopped onions 1cup

Chopped garlic 1tblspn

Ginger paste 1teaspn

Turmeric powder 1teaspn

Chopped green chillies 4 splited 

Bamboo shoots 1/2cup

Chopped coriander leaves 1cup

Oil for frying 

Salt as required

Method 

1/ Heat oil in a pan, saute the chopped onions till it golden brown.

2/Add the chopped garlic and ginger paste.

3/Add the chopped green chillies.

4/Add turmeric powder,salt and the fish.

5/Fry it well until is become mashed.

6/Now add the fermented bamboo shoots and fry it well.

7/At the end moment add the chopped coriander leaves. Ready to serve with steamed rice.
