Today i prepared a very typical bengali dish,called “chanar dalna” ! This a very simple recipe and perfect menu for dinner. Combination of potatoes,paneer & green peas. While in the main recipe green fresh peas are being used, but i had added dried peas,cause it’s not the peas season & frozen peas are not available today at our kitchen.. lol 😂 I used the recipe from a cooking book. It was quite delicious and my family loved it! 😊
Dried green peas 1cup (wash and soak it overnight and then boil it)
Potatoe 1 Big size (Chopped and boil it)
Tomato 1 Chopped
Coriander+cumin+redchilli+turmeric powder 1teaspn (add little bit of mustard oil to make a wet paste together)
Ginger paste 1teaspn
A pinch of sugar
Salt as required
1teaspn of whole cumin seeds
2 bay leaves
1teaspn garam masala
1/2 Cup mustard oil
Heat oil in a pan and fry the paneer and potato cubes batch wise till it golden all sides. Keep aside.
At the same oil crackles cumin seeds and add bay leaves.
Add the chopped tomatoes and cook for a couple of mins.
Add the boiled peas and ginger paste and mix well.
Now add the masala paste and mix well again.
Season with salt and sugar and stir for a min.
Now add 1Cup of water and add the fried paneer and potato cubes.
Cook for 5 mins covered.
Take off the flame add garam masala and ghee.
Serve hot with rice/roti.
